About Masha

Masha Micaelov is a Judaica artist brought up in Russia in an artistic family. Her father is a theatre director and her grandfather a poet. At the age of 12, she saw the downfall of Soviet Union, and experienced the spirit of freedom.

Initially she went to art school in Russia itself, where she mastered the technicalities and the discipline of art. This would be her professional strength.

At the age of 19 she immigrated to Israel taking part in a special program for young talented artists. During her first visit to Jerusalem, she fell in love with the city and it became her residence, spiritual and artistic home.

She was accepted into Israels’ prestigious Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. She learned Hebrew, made new friends, met and mingled with students of different cultures and backgrounds and much more than in the Soviet art school, she was able to discover her own creative side and inner spirituality.

Masha settled down in Jerusalem, where she has lived ever since with her husband and little girl.
